The Lyric Theatre

Built in 1914, The Lyric Theatre was designed for B.F. Keith’s Vaudeville circuit. Many stars have graced its stage, including the Marx Brothers, Mae West, Sophie Tucker, Will Rogers and Milton Berle. The Lyric was one of the first venues in the South where blacks and whites could watch the same show at the same time for the same price, even though there was still segregation of seating.

Now completely revitalized, The Lyric Theatre is once again entertaining patrons with live concerts.
